I recently bumped into this quote by Norman Vincent Peale…

“People become really quite remarkable when they start thinking they can do things. When they believe in themselves, they have the first secret of success.”

As I thought about the quote it occurred to me that it takes BRAVERY and COURAGE to believe in yourself and to show the world your authentic self.

Sure… for the lucky ones this comes naturally and easily, however, most of the truly successful people I have worked with in my coaching practice contacted me because they wanted to develop new and more effective strategies for increasing their self-confidence, their sense of worthiness and their BRAVERY to BE their authentic self at all times.

To be a successful business professional it takes BRAVERY to…

  • Confidently give someone advice on how to run their business – especially in the present economy.
  • Talk with people about their money.
  • Ask others to PAY you for your time.
  • Raise your prices and rates when the economy is down.
  • Tell someone “No” or decline their request.
  • Call total strangers and ask them to do business with you.
  • Choose what is “right” over what would make you “popular”.

What makes a successful person rise above mediocrity is their willingness to pull up their big girl/big boy britches and believe in themselves and their mission — despite what anyone else thinks about it!
